Villas del Caribe, on Playa Chiquita just south of Puerto Viejo, is one of very few local hotels directly on the beach on Costa Rica’s Caribbean coast. Overlooking the warm natural coral pools that make this part of Costa Rica so popular, the hotel consists of 26 air-conditioned units, including four two-story Villas that sleep up to six each, plus a manager’s suite. Guest facilities include a sea-side restaurant, coffee shop, a modern beachside meeting room and a thatch roof “rancho” suitable for a bar or adventure tour center. Spa and family entertainment facilities are almost complete and a
swimming pool is under construction.

- Four two-story Villas for up to 4 adults plus 2 children, with fully equipped kitchens, 2 bedrooms, one with a king bed and the other with two single beds, living-dining area, private bathroom, Cable TV, Mini-bar, terrace and balcony with ocean view.
- Eight Junior Villas with kitchenettes, a king bed and a single sofa/bed, A/C, Cable TV, Mini-bar, private bathroom, plus ample terrace with loungers and ocean view.
- Eight Superior Rooms with a king size bed or two twin beds, and a single sofa/bed, A/C, Cable TV, Mini-bar, private bathroom, ample balcony with hammocks and ocean view.
- Six Standard Rooms with a king bed or two twin beds as needed, ceiling fan, private bathroom, balcony with hammocks and ocean view.
All units are bright, fresh and clean, have private bathrooms and have been designed in modern Caribbean style which catches the coastal prevailing breezes for effective cross ventilation. All have ceiling fans; there is air conditioning in some units as well as large eaves that add to the comfortable temperature inside the villas and rooms. They are tastefully designed, decorated and furnished for comfort, with lamps, cushions, loungers and hammocks. Cable TV is being added to the main ocean front buildings
